  A chunky, medium-sized shorebird with a long, straight bill and moderately long legs. Forages with a sewing-machinelike motion. Their breeding plumage turns an unbelievably rich and beautiful cinnamon and ginger color; otherwise, they are brown and greyish wth white undersides.
