Boat-tailed and Great-tailed Grackles are resident Corvids that can be found inland or on the shore. They are magnificent birds and are entirely misunderstood. 

Intelligent, friendly, people-loving, funny, and bold they like to display a macho front but are really just big softies. 

Because Grackles are common birds in this region, they are often overlooked, deemed scavengers, bullies, and nuisances when, in fact, are true survivors. 

They use tools and intelligent methods to achieve a successful hunt, and their ability to thrive in salt, brackish, and freshwater (coupled with having an extremely varied and opportunistic diet) proves their ancient lineage will carry on.
