ibises

Glossy, White-faced, and White Ibises are residents to the Texas Gulf Coast.

Occasionally I'll cross over the dunes to catch a glimpse of these amazing birds. I love the immatures' molting phases and the adults in breeding season. They're all so beautiful. 

In general, their species are loving, family-oriented and mentor-focused. They live in multi-generational families. Everyone pitches in and helps out.

White Ibis were revered by the ancient Egyptians, not worshipped, but were considered messengers of the spiritual world. I couldn't agree more.

So grateful I can see them locally.
